First I was told $15, then I overheard them debating between $10-$15. It was finally decided the price was $20. It would’ve been nice to know the actual price up front instead of a guesstimate.

To be completely frank I wasn’t actually seen by the woman I booked, I assume her name is Sonia, and did end up having to cancel my appointment.My issue comes with the way I was regarded when I arrived. While she wasn’t extremely rude she was condescending upon my realization that her establishment was not equipped for my needs and she assumed I was leaving when I needed to step out. She spoke as if I could not understand her perfectly fine. I would have considered staying had she not spoken to me that way.

So I had been thinking about transitioning from acrylics to my natural nails and found this salon on Google. I was excited about it being non-toxic, vegan, etc and was looking forward to a different experience. I definitely got a different experience. I made an appointment yesterday for the ‘Just Gel It’ manicure. On their website, it says that it includes:“Nail shaping and detailed cuticle careNon-Toxic gel polish followed by Jojoba oil cuticle treatmentGentle exfoliation with nourishingRelaxation massage with paraben & fragrance-free organic moisturizing lotionHot crystal enhancementWarm towel wrap” (copied and pasted)I showed up to my appointment and was seated. I sat down and she put oil on my cuticles, pushed them back, and trimmed them. I then washed my hands and she painted my nails. THAT’S IT!!! No exfoliation, no massage, no hot crystals, no towel wrap, i LITERALLY didn’t even get LOTION (as you can see in my picture)!!! My nails look nice and the lady was nice; but, with the $45 manicure, $8 building gel add-on, and a $5 tip (because that’s what I tip when I’m dissatisfied) I paid $58 dollars for less than half of the service I was supposed to receive!!

I was looking for an black owned nail salon without the “nail shop” feeling and this was it. From the moment I walked in, it was warm and welcoming. They recently transitioned the place to accommodate not only nail services but also classes such as candle making, body butter making, etc. I had a ver relaxing and thorough pedicure with light conversation and good vibes all around. I will def be back to enjoy more of their services. Oh and as a bonus, parking is free in the parking garage right next door!
