The highlights Val has weaved in over the years stay looking natural so my hair never has obvious roots or grows out awkwardly. She’s able to touch up growth and brighten my ends during each visit.Val really understands my desired boho-chic style. ***UPDATE: I won the dispute, same week the salon charged my credit card for an even higher amount, completely unauthorized. FRAUDDDDD ALERTTTTTI like to think I’m easy going, clear with my hair wants/needs, and trust the professionals. Unfortunately, my first and only time at Wild Honey Salon was underwhelming… and I was slapped with a $500 surprise bill + 20% tip.I asked for a root touch up + balayage. Prices online state double process service starts at $250… but I was charged $400 (Stylist should have been transparent before process was started) and I was charged for root smudging…? Which she didn’t run by me. I was also charged for a full hair cut even though I asked for a lite dusting of my ends. Walked out with chunky layers and poor face framing.I left without making a fuss but called the next day to speak to the manager. The manager (Monica) wasn’t in but another stylist who answered the phone sounded empathetic and offered a $150 refund which I accepted. The manager called a few days later offering $150 in service but I explained I wasn’t interested in returning to her salon and was already offered a $150 refund. The manager (Monica) said she would have to talk to the stylist that offered me the $150 and get back to me….? A week went by and I never heard from her. I started calling daily but the manager (Monica) was never available. After calling consecutively for 5 days the receptionist said If he were me, he would go ahead a dispute the charge with my credit card company, because Monica is not going to get back to me. Beware.

I went to Wild Honey last week for the first time and saw a new stylist for a basic haircut. The cut was decent, she did a good job, however the overall experience was cold and uncomfortable. I was very close to asking my stylist if she was okay because she seemed like she did not want to be there or was upset at me for some reason. Sadly I won’t be coming back.

They checked me in as soon as i walked in and offered me refreshments while i waited! Their salon was well lit, clean, and all the staff were super sweet and kind! My stylist, Summer, was amazing. I was super nervous about chopping my hair, but she did a great job listening to what i was asking and kept checking in with me as she continued the cut and style. Could not recommend this place MORE, they were amazing, and I will definitely be going back!

They did a great job with my braids. It was very fast too. I love how they will have multiple women working on one hairstyle so its 3 people braiding your hair at once and its very fast and efficient. The girls are so sweet. The environment and energy in this place is amazing. They have a tv playing and interesting shows to keep you occupied while you get your hair done. I went to African Hair Braiding by Koumba for the first time on Wednesday, 5/8/24. I am fairly new to San Diego so I didn’t have any recommendations from a friend for any salon. I chose this salon strictly on the reviews.I made a very good decision. These ladies did a spectacular job on my hair. I do not have a history of braiding styles so I didn’t know if I would like it. I love it.They are professional, kind, and very, very skilled hair stylists. They work great together as a team. I will not look any further when it is time for my next appointment. I originally asked for a root touch up and trim on the phone. When I arrived he provided a thorough consultation to understand the goals I truly had for my hair and we accomplished so much more! I say we because he was extremely inclusive throughout the ENTIRE process. He was very knowledgeable with my hair texture and is THE FIRST to suggest a bleaching service (foils) to add some dimension to get the end result I truly wanted. ABOVE AND BEYOND on making me feel comfortable in his chair. I highly encourage ladies with textured hair that are skeptical of getting your hair colored outside of your community to go to Wesley. He is a HIDDEN GEM💎 He also got my hair done in record time from any salon I’ve ever been to for JUST a cut. Best Salon experience I have ever had
